Your RentalBux account contains sensitive financial data. Here's how to lock it down properly in about two minutes.
Why Security Matters for Your Rental Accounts?
Your RentalBux account holds your rental income records, tenant details, bank transactions, tax submissions, and property documents. It's connected to HMRC. It's essentially your entire rental business in digital form.
Protecting it isn't optional — it's essential. The good news is that RentalBux makes it straightforward.
Setting a Strong Password
When you created your account, you chose a password. If it's short, simple, or something you use on other websites, now is the time to change it.
A strong password is:
At least 12 characters long
A mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
Not based on personal information (your name, your address, your cat's name)
Unique to RentalBux — not reused from other accounts
To change your password:
Consider using a password manager to generate and store a strong, unique password.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security. Even if someone guesses or steals your password, they can't get into your account without the second factor — typically a code from your phone.
To enable 2FA:
From now on, every time you log in, you'll enter your password and then the code from your authenticator app.
Your Data Is Protected
Beyond what you can control, RentalBux has security measures running behind the scenes:
Encryption. All data transmitted between your browser and RentalBux is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. Your data at rest is also encrypted.
GDPR compliance. RentalBux complies with UK data protection regulations. Your personal data is handled according to the privacy policy at https://rentalbux.com/privacy-policy
FCA-authorised infrastructure. RentalBux uses financial-grade security infrastructure. Bank connections are handled through FCA-regulated intermediaries, so RentalBux never sees or stores your bank login credentials.
Regular security audits. The platform undergoes regular security testing to identify and fix vulnerabilities.
